THE
MAN CHRIST JESUS
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made
of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared
to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit
of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: (Rom. 1:3,4)
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth
his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (Gal. 4:4)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and
blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that
through death he might destroy him that had the power of
death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through
fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but
he took on him the seed of Abraham.
Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like
unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful
high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation
for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath
suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that
are tempted. (Heb. 2:14-18)
This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is
preferred before me: for he was before me. (John 1:30)
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to
be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the
form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself,
and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
(Phil. 2:6-8)
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and
death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that
all have sinned: … But not as the offence, so also
is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many
be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace,
which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
(Rom. 5:12,15)
For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified
are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call
them brethren, (Heb. 2:11)
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through
the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful
flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (Rom. 8:3)
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of
man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little
lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and
honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works
of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: (Ps.
8:4-6)
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels
for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour;
that he by the grace of God should taste death for every
man. (Heb. 2:9)
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection
of the dead. (1 Cor. 15:21)
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus; (1 Tim. 2:5)
